Looking back, I'd never have guessed that the second chapter of my life would involve founding a non-lethal defense technology startup. But life can be like that and I am grateful for all of it, even the unpredictable parts.

For the past 20 years I'd watched my children come of age during this era of school shootings and anxiety over personal safety. When they started to leave the house, I stewed in my anxiety, overwhelmed with spiraling worry and sleepless nights. I even picked up an unhealthy habit of tracking their phones in the evenings. Never a good idea.

When I met Larry, he was designing non-lethal defense solutions for large spaces using patent pending sonic technology that he developed. Larry introduced me to the vast protective potential of sound and I suggested that we incorporate his powerful sonic technology into a petite, lightweight form factor to use as the ultimate keychain alarm: high-tech, science-based, with an overwhelming deterrent effect. I felt certain we could build a humane, non-lethal defense product with the same efficacy and power as more violent options.

So, along with a team of engineers, designers, security consultants, as well as a wonderful bunch of thoughtful, ambitious student interns, WeSkreech was born. I hope you all will join us in our mission to offer the world powerful, effective and humane sonic defense solutions.
